There are many benefits to owning and building your own sauna

The sauna building plans we offer are comprehensive manuals on how to build your own sauna — a traditional wood-fired Finnish-style sauna. They are intended to be used by the DIY sauna builder or contractor. The plans have been developed by sauna builder, Rob Licht, with over 35 years experience in the sauna industry. The plans adhere to the best practices in quality home construction and science-based sauna building.

The wood-fired freestanding sauna and wood-fired mobile sauna designs can be purchased and downloaded from our online shop.

The 50+ pages (PDF format) include large format architectural-styled drawings, photos, in-depth notes, material list, weights of materials, tips and general information about saunas. There are many detailed pages on sauna doors, vents and benches.

The mobile sauna plans are based on using standard sized quality trailers 5x8ft or 6.5x10ft.

These plans are for a 1-time build and non-commercial use only.

Note: The plans do not give basic instructions on using hand or power tools, basic carpentry, sound building practices, or basic safety procedures. If you lack these skills it is advised that you take a hands-on carpentry class. Some basic metalworking skills will be required for the project and there may be welding modifications for the mobile sauna. If in doubt about any of these details, consult a skilled professional.
